Steph's curled up on the couch, wearing pyjama pants, socks and a t-shirt that definitely doesn't belong to her, and watching Star Wars again.

"Can I at least let them know I'll be away for awhile?"

Man, she's protective. He's not complaining much, though.

"And I'm going to the bar, anyway!"

"I suppose I'll want you out of the flat sometimes, so you may," she decides, grinning. "You have permission."

She's possibly mocking herself. But more likely she's mocking him. This is STEPH, after all.

"What, you'll get tired of me?" Ed sticks his tongue out at her. "I'll kick you if you do."

"I might just want private time!"

She is wearing Billy's shirt. You can tell, 'cos it doesn't fit her, and also, it DOESN'T HAVE GREAT FROG ON IT. Not that that's got any relevance to the statement, OF COURSE.

Ed rolls his eyes.

Steph has the courtesy to blush. "Maybe."

"He's OLD. And he tried to BURN MY HEAD OFF the other day!"

"You guys have got to get over this."

"I went down to talk to him," Steph says patiently, "because I wanted to see if he knew how to make you go see a doctor. And he said he didn't. And was ... less than helpful. So I told him he was useless, and walked away. And THEN HE TRIED TO BURN MY HEAD OFF."










"... he missed."

"Do you think it's possible," Ed says, "That he missed on purpose?"

His face is a little blank.

"I think it's probable, actually," Steph says, folding her arms grimly. "Doesn't matter. He threatened me."

"And how many times have you threatened him?" Ed points out.

"Not with fire! I told him I'd cell him if he tried that again, but I didn't even threaten him before it!"

She's pretty sure she didn't, anyway.

Hey, this is not fair. Why is she coming off the bad guy here? Who got attacked?

She glares. "He shot fire at me," she reminds Ed, pointedly. "FIRE."

"I heard you the first time," he says. "And I'll deal with it."

"You better," Steph mutters, subsiding. "Stupid brat. - er, not you. Him."

"But maybe you'd better learn to be less hostile, too."

Nobody ever said he thought she was innocent.

"Hey, I'm not the bad guy here. I didn't try to burn him. I was trying to cooperate. To get you to go see a doctor." She makes a face at him.

She's TOTALLY INNOCENT. NO RLY.

"You know," Ed says, "You say nothing but he's a bad guy. I'll talk to him and he'll go on about how you're in the wrong. Do you think that's fair to me?"
